I am running for the office of Treasurer which I currently hold on the board. I was appointed to serve a two year term having taken over mid-term due to an unforeseen vacancy. I jumped at this opportunity to serve my fellow AHEAD members. I am very active within the profession and at the conference each year. I am dedicated to the office of treasurer and work with pride and dignity. I asks the hard questions on the board when it comes to the organization finances always keeping in mind that the members should and need to get their money's worth. Within the two years in this office I have been able to maintain a balanced budget during the 2008, 2009, and 2010 financial years. I oversaw the budgeting process that increased direct member-benefit allocation by nearly 10%, while cutting overall association spending by 8% in the 2010 fiscal year. The organization has undergone two external audit cycles, both of which were found to be 100% financially solvent. These are just of few of the things that I have done as the treasurer. In closing, I solicit your vote for the office of treasurer. I have experience as the treasurer, I am intimately familiar with the budgetary, revenue, and expenditure processes of the organization.
