The Member Development Committee for AHEAD is making plans for International attendees at the New Orleans conference. There is an interest for, and request to, Past Presidents to serve as a point of contact, mentor, and information source for attendees. The goal is to have someone who has been in a leadership role with AHEAD and who may have a broader interest/knowledge base on issues of disability, services, and other variables beyond strictly "nuts & bolts." The expectation is 3-fold: 1. Attend the panel discussion comprised of individuals from various countries addressing activities, needs, and obstacles. (TBD) 2. Attend the International Reception (likely Wed night). 3. Provide contact as a resource/mentor. Specifically throughout the conference, with a desire for at least one follow-up contact after the conference to check on experience and provide opportunity to continue dialogue. Logistics will occur subsequently to connect people. Presently, it is necessary to know who is interested and willing in order to get a count of past-presidents to be involved. Seems like a wonderful opportunity to make use of experience, knowledge, and ambassadorship. Please let me know. Thank you.
