Dear Mississippi AHEAD members, 

 

A colleague at Antonelli College has a couple of questions regarding
students with learning disabilities.  I thought you might be able to
provide her with some answers.  If so, please email Audra Kimble at

Many of our students come to us that have never been tested for learning
disabilities, but we suspect that they have them. Most of them cannot
afford to get tested. 

1)      Do you know what testing or other services might be available
for adults? Do you know who we might contact to find out more about
this?

2)      Do you know someone that could come to Antonelli to provide a
workshop on teaching students with learning disabilities?  We have a
student right now that is struggling to pass her keyboarding classes.
She works so hard, but she just can't get past 30 words a minute without
tons of errors. She is not the only one. There are others that are
struggling as well.

 

I would certainly appreciate it if you could just point me in the right
direction.
