Dear GA-Ahead members and past members:

As you know, the elections of GA-Ahead Officers for the coming year (July
2007 - June 2008) will take place at the 2007 Spring Conference in Athens
this week. If you are unable to attend the conference, you can inform me by
email or cell phone who you would like to nominate and vote for. Nominations
are being sought now and at the Business Meeting during the conference.
Self-nominations are encouraged. If you paid dues for this year you are
eligible to nominate and vote. A brief Bio will be needed.

If you are unsure if you are a member, or if you are not a member and would
like to become active and fill a board position, let me know. We are to vote
for a President Elect, Secretary, and Treasurer (that works with
membership).

Please fill in names for each if the positions for which you would like to
nominate a candidate and return to Bonnie Martin by Thursday, March 15 at
12:00 Noon. My email is bmartin at gpc.edu and my cell phone number is
404-273-3823.

Below are descriptions from the by-laws for the needed positions:
Section 8. President-Elect. In the absence of the President or in the event
of an inability or refusal to act, the President-Elect shall perform the

approved by the Board or the members, and shall authorize all disbursements
in writing, in advance, or shall disburse upon the written direction of the

adequate and appropriate records of receipts and disbursements, and shall
submit quarterly reports to the Board, and annual reports to the Board and
the members, reflecting the most recent period's activities. If required by
the Board of Directors, the Treasurer shall give a bond for the faithful
discharge of the duties of such office in such sum and with such surety or
