Thanks to all who responded to the request for numbers of students with 
Asperger's and ASD. I have still been getting responses this week and with 
90 institutions reporting, the numbers are as follows:

90 schools with a total of 508 students with ASD and Asperger's  for an 
average of 5.6 students per school

4 year institutions  - 71 schools with 396 students for an average of 5.8

2 year institutions - 19 schools with 112 students for an average of 5.9

The numbers are of course dependent on who responds to the query. For the 
2006-07 academic year, the average was much higher for 2 year schools 
(8.9) with about half the number of institutions reporting (10.) Four year 
institutions increased this year from an average of 4.2 to 5.8.

As the new CDC numbers have increased to 1 in 150 with an ASD diagnosis, 
we will certainly continue to see an increase in our higher ed numbers.
